DR MARK RAWLINS
Executive Chairperson and Chief Engineer

Mark, as a registered Professional Engineer, a Certified Energy Manager, and a Measurement and Verification Professional, has been deeply active in energy management and energy performance verification for over 35 years.

Mark has a unique blend of experience, skills, and know-how in engineering, technology, energy systems, process design, and optimisation. He is also an accomplished data science practitioner dealing with advanced analytics, process modelling, simulation, and statistical analysis.

Under his leadership and with his experience, our team provides an array of specialised services and engages in innovative research and development of our products.

RORY SHARP
Managing Director

Rory joined ECS with 25 years’ experience in the commercial business environment with competency in financial and commercial management and reporting, contract management, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, risk management, procurement, and project costing and control. He is a CA (SA) and provides ECS with strategic financial management.

SIMMIE REDDY
Chief Operating Officer

A Chemical Engineer with expertise in the areas of data analysis, mathematical modelling, data analytics, energy management, energy efficiency, Measurement and Verification, data handling and data transformation, Simmie has been key in the development of ECS’s Analysis Team, which she leads.

She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional, and is a SANAS-Accredited technical signatory for SANS 50010 under SANS 17020.

PETER MEYER
Sales and Marketing Director

Over his more than 25 years in sales and marketing, Peter has worked in areas such as lubricants, fuels, IT and financial services in the business, mining and industrial sector.

His relationship management skills have benefitted the company since his appointment in 2006. His focus is on the delivery of ECS’s products and services to customers.

Morena Sithole
Non-executive Director

As Managing Director of Masana Petroleum Solutions, Morena has over 15 years’ industry experience in roles spanning sales, commercial operations and general management as well as Executive business leadership. He served as Chairman from 2016 to 2020, and brings his expertise to the table to the benefit of ECS.

Peter Potgieter
Technical expert: engineering

Peter has been with ECS for over 20 years and has overseen our engineering projects for most of that time. He has extensive engineering knowledge and project management skills, has a BTech (Mechanical Engineering) and is a CEM. His in-depth understanding of our customers is of great benefit to ECS.

Charl Viljoen
TECHNICAL EXPERT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS

ECS is a very technology-driven business, and as such the management of IT is of great importance. Charl’s passion for his work ensures that this side of the business is well taken care of. He has a National Diploma in Information Technology together with over 12 years’ experience in both mining and software development.

With five years of experience in the Analytics field, Akshay excels in leveraging data for business growth. His extensive knowledge and technical expertise, coupled with strong analytical acumen, set him apart in the field of data analytcs. Additionally, he holds a Master’s in Mechatronics, further enriching his skill set.

LAVEENA MUNSAMY
TECHNICAL EXPERT: DATA TRANSFORMATION AND ANALYSIS

Laveena joined the ECS team in 2008 and over the years has gained valuable experience in data analysis and measurement and verification for enabling energy and operational management. She has a BTech in Chemical Engineering and is currently pursuing a MPhil in Engineering Management with a focus on application of analytics on a mining architecture.
